Tuesday morning we woke up in Tempe, AZ. We didn't have any plans set for the day, other than reaching the South Rim of the Grand Canyon by that evening. We started driving on 17 north towards Flagstaff and ventured out to whatever caught our interest. We saw a sign for Montezuma Castle and decided to check it out.
We decided to divert from 17N to 89 and took the scenic route around the Sedona Red Rocks. We met a wonderful tour guide in the visitor center who directed us to all of the best sites. We stopped at Bell Canyon and the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The Red Rocks at Sedona were so striking we couldnt get enough. We drove around and eventually watched the sun set at Sedona Airport.
Finally, we took 89A around the mountains to our destination at Tusayan.
